The Garden State has a surfing history deeper and stronger than anyone has ever realized. New Jersey - The Endless Stoke is a surf documentary that, for the first time, will tell the true history of surfing in our state. This is our story and the film makers from Elmwood Road Productions need your help in telling it in detail. Anyone who has ever surfed in NJ has contributed in some small way and this is your chance to be heard. Everyone over the years has had pictures, films and stories to tell from their time on the water. Elmwood Road Productions want you to now share them today.
Carl "Tinker" West from Challenger Eastern Surfboards, Cecil Lear who established the Eastern Surfing Association in 1967, influential shop owners such as Les Reitman of Manatee, Vince Troniec of Islanders and Greg Mesanko of Grog's Surf Palace have already shared their stories and pictures with them. ERP have been able to unearth historic shots of the late E Street band members Clarence Clemons and Danny Federici surfing in Long Branch in the early 70s. These pictures, interviews and films will be saved for future generations of New Jersey surfers to see and understand who helped to shape the culture of surfing in our great state.
This is OUR story and they need your help in order to tell it completely. Please take the time to search your drawers, closets and attics for pictures and films. Your stories and memories will help to tell the collective story of the history of New Jersey surfing. Every photo, video and story you have to share can only make this documentary better. This story stretches from Sandy Hook to Cape May and covers 127 miles of the best coastline and beaches in the United States. Every beach community is vital to this film and ERP want to cover as much as possible. They need your help in order to do this.
We have always been proud of being from New Jersey and this film will show the rest of the world just what an extremely positive, beautiful and special place New Jersey is. This story will show the bond and friendships that surfers share with their friends and how proud and lucky we all are to live in New Jersey. This is your chance to share your thoughts, pictures, films and memories with all of us who live for surfing in New Jersey.
