The 2012 Skim Bash event in Sea Bright, NJ last weekend was a great turnout! Just North of Donovans Reef, the event was full force with many people watching the action! The waves weren't great, but still fun and the weather was absolutely perfect!
In its ninth year, the Sea Bright Skim Bash boasted 110 participants including approximately a dozen Pro’s competing for a cash purse as a yearly stop on the Skim USA Pro/AM skimboarding tour.
The contestants in the Skim Bash compete for points that accumulate throughout the season, and the Pro’s that make the trip vie for a $2000 cash prize.
The SkimBash hosted competitors young as well as old.
Steff Mags won the Womens title at the 2012 Sea Bright Skim Bash, while Ed Hayden got gold in the Masters division. Colton Wallace was the best Semi-Pro and Blake Gupko was crowned winner of the Menehunes.
Pro Team riders John Akerman, Dave Armstrong, and Max Smetts made it to the finals with John Akerman taking 1st!
