Gabe Kling wins the 2014 Pacifico Belmar Pro

With another year in the history books, this year’s event had no shortage action. A building NE wind swell peaked on Day 3 with some meaty chest to head high bowls and ripping surfing. However, Finals Day 4 started off with wondering if we were going to pull off a finish to the event with rapidly dwindling conditions despite the absolutely perfect weather. In the end we squeezed every last inch of wave left with it literally going flat with the low tide at the end of the day.

Top performers in the Pacifico Belmar Pro were Huntington Beach’s Kanoa Igarashi, who posted an 8.17 as the Highest Wave Score in Semifinal 1, and Gabe Kling who posted a 15.07 as the Highest Heat Total of the day, in Semifinal 2.

Top performers in the Fins Pro Junior were Huntington Beach’s Kanoa Igarashi, who posted an 8.00 as the Highest Wave Score in Semifinal 2, and Parker Coffin who posted a 14.43 as the Highest Heat Total of the day, in Semifinal 2.

Curry Beach, NC’s Tony Silvagni continued his dominance in taking is 5th Belmar Longboard Pro title by clearly outshining his competitors with technical prowess that turns even the shortboarders heads.
